LOGO – A Never-Ending Story

I can’t even count how many times a client has asked me to print their “logo” on flyers, business cards (that’s the easy part), banners or other large-format materials… and what lands in my inbox is a tiny 2×2 cm JPG.Or worse: a photo of a business card taken with a phone, a snapshot of an old flyer, or even a blurred picture of a piece of graph paper where someone scribbled a “logo” by hand.
When I ask for a logo file, I mean a professional, vector file created by a professional designer—saved in formats such as AI, PDF or SVG.And yes, it always gets awkward when I say I can’t accept the file they’ve sent and ask for a proper version.The answer is almost always the same: “I made it myself,” “My friend designed it,” “I used Canva…”
Canva and Free Logo Makers Are Not Professional
I understand that running a business requires investments.But anyone starting their own company must accept that a well-designed, properly prepared logo is one of those investments.
A logo is the face of your brand: the first thing a customer sees, remembers and connects with your business.It’s also your trademark.If the logo is slapped together, low-resolution and blurry, that is exactly how people will perceive your company.
Don’t be tempted by Canva or any “free logo generator.”No online template can replace the skill and experience of a professional graphic designer.
Why I Refuse to Print Low-Quality Logos
If a client can’t provide a proper, professional vector file, I will not take the job to print it.Simple reason: printing such a “logo” would be a bad advertisement for me as well.
I always offer a solution: I can design or recreate the logo professionally and supply all the correct vector formats, at the current design rate.
Everyone has a choice—but here’s my warning:Canva and similar tools are a shortcut that will ultimately damage your brand’s image.
A professional logo is an investment that pays off—in brand recognition, in how seriously customers take you, and in the lasting credibility of your business.
